Role Description:
The General Duty Assistant (GDA) is responsible for providing basic patient care and assisting healthcare professionals in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of patients in hospitals, healthcare centers, and other medical facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
Support nurses and healthcare staff in providing patient care.
Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to the nursing staff.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient rooms and surrounding areas.
Assist in shifting and transporting patients within the facility.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical waste as per guidelines.
Help maintain patient records and documentation as required.
Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their attendants.
Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per hospital guidelines.
Attend to patient needs promptly and courteously.
Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
