The Role: The role is responsible for managing a large-scale automotive workforce deployment project across its complete lifecycle. This includes workforce planning, sourcing, onboarding, training, deployment, compliance, cost management, operational execution, client coordination, and performance tracking. The position ensures timely revenue realisation, operational continuity, statutory adherence, and delivery excellence in alignment with client requirements.
The role acts as the single point of accountability for end to end execution at the project level, ensuring that all operational, workforce, and compliance commitments are met while maintaining efficiency, transparency, and service quality.
Key focus areas includes:
- Acting as the project leader, creating & delivering the project charter as the primary point of contact, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring smooth coordination.
- Ensuring manpower availability, training readiness, workflow continuity and adherence to quality standards.
- Identifying opportunities to increase business value, broaden service offerings or enhance the existing scope.
- Ensuring that all statutory, contractual and operational requirements are met without deviation.
- Guiding internal teams to deliver consistent outcomes and maintain service standards across all activities in the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Workforce Planning and Deployment: The role is responsible for designing & execution of the entire project ensuring the desired number of trained workers are available at the right time so that operations run smoothly without interruptions.
- Sourcing and Onboarding: The position manages the complete process of hiring and onboarding shop-floor workers. This includes coordinating sourcing from approved locations, maintaining the required geographic and gender mix and ensuring manpower availability as per schedules.
- Training and Skill Readiness: The role ensures that all workers receive proper induction, safety training, technical / Dexterity training and client specific orientation before being deployed refresher training and skill upgrades are conducted regularly to meet shop-floor standards.
- Day-to-Day Operations and Productivity: The role monitors daily shop-floor operations to ensure workers are present, productive, and following defined processes. Any issues related to attendance, productivity, or deployment are addressed quickly to avoid impact on production and compliance /audit readiness. Manage costs & operational efficiency.
- Worker Engagement, Welfare, and Retention: The position focuses on keeping workers engaged and motivated by addressing grievances, ensuring safe working conditions and welfare initiatives.
- Reporting and Transparency: The role prepares and shares regular reports on hiring, deployment, attendance, training, compliance, and workforce performance. Any gaps or issues are clearly highlighted along with corrective actions.
- Client Coordination: The role acts as the main point of contact for JSW for all operational matters. It participates in review meetings, supports inspections, responds to queries, and ensures smooth coordination between JSW and internal teams.
The Ideal Experience: The ideal candidate should have extensive experience of atleast 10 years in managing end-to-end workforce-intensive projects in automotive or automotive ancillary environments, including greenfield operations. Strong exposure to shop-floor operations, training ecosystems, statutory compliance, and large-scale workforce deployment is essential. The role requires sound commercial understanding, operational discipline, client-handling maturity, and the ability to manage complex, multi-location execution.
Experience in Maharshtra shall be an added advantage.
Educational Qualification: BE – Mechanical / Operation / MBA, Certifications with Project Management or Six Sigma will be an edge.
