Role Overview:
The Meter Reader is responsible for visiting assigned locations to accurately record electricity, water, or gas meter readings. The role requires fieldwork, accuracy, punctuality, and strong customer interaction skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit residential, commercial, and industrial premises as per the allocated route.
- Accurately record meter readings using handheld devices/mobile applications.
- Verify meter numbers, seals, and ensure no tampering or irregularities.
- Report damaged, inaccessible, or faulty meters to the supervisor.
- Provide basic information to consumers regarding reading schedules or billing cycles.
- Submit recorded data daily to the billing/operations team.
- Follow safety protocols during field visits.
- Maintain professional conduct while dealing with customers.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in meter reading, fieldwork, or utility operations preferred.
- Freshers with good physical fitness may also apply.
