Responsible for Entire fitting process of the company’s products. Responsible for cutting, aligning and assembling materials or parts from the raw materials and assemble it into finished product.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Fabrication fitters may take raw materials, pre-cut parts, or fabricated components and meticulously assemble them according to drawings and specifications.
- Must use their knowledge and various tools (jacks, turnbuckles, wedges) to ensure precise alignment of parts before permanent joining
- Meticulously measure and mark materials to ensure proper fit-up before assembly.
- Must inspect every part for defects or inconsistencies before and after assembly to maintain quality standards.
- Should modify parts using tools like grinders or saws to achieve a perfect fit, requiring a good understanding of metal working techniques.
- Must be able to interpret technical drawings to understand assembly instructions and part specifications.
- Basic math skills are necessary for accurate measurements and calculations during the assembly process.
- Should be able to communicate clearly with colleagues, especially welders and fabricators, is essential for smooth project execution.
