Areas of Responsibilities
Review and understand project specifications, BOQs, and technical requirements for E&I materials and packages.
Identify qualified vendors based on approved vendor lists (AVL) and ensure compliance with L&T and client standards.
Float enquiries (RFQs), perform techno-commercial evaluations, and prepare comparative statements.
Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure smooth coordination from order placement to delivery.
Track vendor progress on engineering documentation, manufacturing, inspection, and dispatch.
Coordinate with engineering, quality, logistics, and project execution teams to resolve technical and commercial issues.
Ensure adherence to project timelines through proactive follow-up and expediting with suppliers.
Maintain procurement documentation, reports, and supplier performance records.
Support cost-saving initiatives, localization efforts, and value engineering activities.
Ensure procurement compliance with L&T’s SCM procedures, ethical standards, and HSE policies.
Key Procurement Categories (Typical):
Electrical: Switchgears, MCCs, transformers, lighting systems, cables, earthing materials, control panels, motors.
Instrumentation: Field instruments, transmitters, control valves, analyzers, junction boxes, instrument tubing, fittings, and accessories.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Electronics / Industrial Engineering.
4–10 years of experience in procurement of E&I materials and systems in EPC / Oil & Gas / Power / Process Plant projects.
Strong understanding of E&I specifications, datasheets, and procurement workflows.
Proficiency in SAP / ERP systems, MS Office, and procurement tracking tools.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
Knowledge of INCOTERMS, import/export documentation, and logistics coordination.
