Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Project Manager (APM) for on-
site supervision and support in railway projects. The APM will assist the Project
Manager in coordinating and managing all on-site activities coach refurbishment,
lavatory upgradation, etc. The role requires strong coordination skills, attention to
detail, and the ability to work under challenging site conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Execution & Coordination
▪ Assist the Project Manager in supervising day-to-day project execution at site.
▪ Coordinate activities among site engineers, subcontractors, labor teams, and
machinery operators.
▪ Monitor execution as per approved technical drawings, project specifications,
and quality standards.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
▪ Track work progress and update daily and weekly work reports.
▪ Support the preparation of project documentation including site measurements,
billing inputs, and photo records.
▪ Flag delays, site issues, and technical deviations to the Project Manager.
Quality & Compliance
▪ Ensure that work is performed as per Indian Railways/RDSO specifications and
approved construction procedures.
▪ Assist QA/QC teams in implementing inspection plans and maintaining quality
control documentation.
▪ Coordinate with safety officers to enforce HSE standards and promote a safe
work culture.
Material & Resource Planning
▪ Assist in planning daily resource allocation (manpower, machinery, and
materials).
▪ Monitor material usage and inventory at the site to prevent shortages or excesses.
Liaison & Communication
▪ Support liaison with client representatives, consultants, and third-party
inspectors during site visits and audits.
▪ Provide inputs to the Project Manager during client meetings and site review
discussions.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
▪ Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
Experience:
▪ 5–8 years of relevant site experience in railway infrastructure projects
▪ Hands-on experience in coach refurbishment, lavatory upgradations, etc. is
highly desirable
▪ Familiarity with construction norms and specifications used by Indian Railways,
IRCON, RVNL, etc.
Key Skills & Competencies:
▪ Practical knowledge of railway site projects
▪ Strong site coordination and problem-solving skills
▪ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
▪ Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and basic project tracking tools
▪ Team player with effective interpersonal and communication skills
▪ Strong discipline and ability to work under pressure in field conditions
