Job Descriptions
Business Understanding:
Must have the necessary skills of development of parts for new products.
Must have extensive knowledge on press tool and tool design and different process at suppliers place and also on capacity calculations. Should know part costing.
Interacts with the Design team with regards to the new product development, reviews the design with respect to manufacturability and discuss alternate design solutions and alternate materials. Makes project schedules for the Development of Mechanical parts for New Product (both tooled up and non tooled up). Sound tooling knowledge, experience in soft tooling process and development.
Should be able to independently manage DFM, DFA for sheet metal, busbars.
Experience in jigs, fixtures & other sheet metal products & processes
Application needs understanding
Understands various features, applications, and advantages of The offer catalog
Contributes to generation of technical specifications for a product line using the inputs from customers, voice, survey, hsitoprical, internal product experience
Identifies the differentiating features according the customer typology and life cycle
Rank the features according the values and the willgness to pay from customer
Assesses the feasibility and technical risks to achieve the performances
Standard Knowledge
Understands various WW standards features, and constraints for the Lob offer catalog
Interpretes the standards for generation of technical specifications

Identifies the standards features which can create differentiating advantages against competition
Defines the verification and validation features and sampling
Product Validation
Is familiar with basics of domain and applies them regularly.
Knows standards related to the validation of his/her product and range

Can elaborate a validation plan with the verification of a mentor
Masters tests condition and use of test equipments
Is familiar with uncertainty of measurement topic and use it to interpret the raw results

Ability to realize the theorical model in order to simulate & optimize design parameters.
Standard Tools and methods
Full mastery fo the engineering factory IS tools package covering multi technologies and all the engineeirng activities
Masters the IS tool package related to offer and multi technologies to realize his engineering activities succefully (requirement development, configuration management, change management, simulation, )
Participates to the deployment and the improvement of the IS tool package

Has in reference the product, functions and components cost for several type of products and functions.

Development Process & Plan
Around 5 years experience get along more than one project experience
Has capacity to build a dev plan and a planning and organize quotation and resource sizing for medium complexity project .
Can optimize std PMP to context of particular situations
Optimizes planning by right level of parallelism, risk taking and cooperation with other functions
Manages risk by appropriate alternative scenario
Organizes integration and validation plan
Project Objectives
Understands Business objectives, customer targets, and challenges of the main functions involved
Identifies the 3 key objectives and sub objectives of the project
Buids/defines with the project team a project management plan based on the Project Management Process (PMP for Offer Creation Process,
CPP for Customer Execution Project) and in line with the PMBoK (Project Management Body of Knowledge)/PMI ( Project Management Institute)
Project risk assessment
Discerns and anticipates uncertain or certain issues
Assesses the consequences on the project objectives and deliverables

Manufacturing new product design
Prepares Manufacturing Process Specification document as key deliverable within PMP process
Approves designs to ensure manufacturability (approval criteria includes geometry, material specification, and surface finish)
Calculates and provides reports on product cost evolution compared to targets and prepares formal product cost file as a key deliverable within PMP process
Conducts risk analysis as it relates to design and process alternatives and the impact to product cost, schedule, and project cost and provides detailed financial analysis of investment alternatives
Quality Design
Ability to translate Customer Critical Requirements into Quality target definition
Ability to identify, apply and drive the Quality methods (including Design For Six Sigma basic ones: Critical to Quality characteristic identification, Scorecards, Pugh matrix, Parameter Diagram, DOE, Process FMEA) required for design success
Ability to coach and check the design optimization and tolerancing to ensure robust design
Ability to create and implement risk dashboards and scorecards to predict & monitor capability of design quality
Ability to ensure consistency, complementarity and right coverage of the tests on technical design and industrial process
DMAIC Green Belt and Design For Six Sigma knowledge
Ability to provide insight into the OCP (Offer Creation Process ) deliverables
