Job Title: New Product Development (NPD) Engineer

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience: 1–3 Years
Job Description:
Responsible for developing new products from concept to production, understanding customer requirements, preparing product designs and engineering documents, coordinating with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and supporting successful NPD launches.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop new products from concept to production.
• Understand customer requirements and convert them into product specifications.
• Prepare and review 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and specifications.
• Perform product design, material selection, and basic engineering calculations.
• Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Purchase, and Suppliers during product development.
• Prepare prototypes and conduct trials and validation.
• Identify and resolve design, manufacturing, and quality issues.
• Conduct DFM/DFA reviews.
• Support cost reduction and productivity improvement activities.
• Prepare BOM, ECN/ECR, drawings, specifications, and test reports.
• Coordinate with suppliers for new component development.
• Conduct product testing and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Support NPD launch and mass production.
• Monitor development timelines and ensure projects are completed as scheduled.
Required Skills:
• Mechanical/Electrical engineering knowledge.
• Product design and development experience.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or relevant CAD software.
• Understanding of BOM, GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA, DFM/DFA, 8D, and problem-solving tools.
• Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Knowledge of relevant IEC/ISO standards is an advantage.
