Position- Site / Construction Engineer
Qualification
Experience
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the construction industry.
Experience in the Hydrocarbon / Oil & Gas sector or similar industrial projects will be preferred.
Candidates with experience in industrial plants, pipelines, CGD projects, process plants, petrochemical plants, refineries, LPG plants, or other infrastructure projects will be preferred.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Site Execution
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day construction activities at the project site.
Ensure execution of work as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors for timely completion of assigned activities.
Ensure proper sequencing of construction activities to meet project milestones.
Monitor manpower, equipment, materials, and resources deployed at site.
2. Construction Supervision
Supervise construction, installation, erection, testing, and related site activities as per the applicable discipline.
Ensure that construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved engineering drawings and project specifications.
Identify site issues and coordinate with engineering, planning, QA/QC, and project teams for timely resolution.
Monitor productivity and progress of contractors and subcontractors.
3. Planning & Progress Monitoring
Coordinate with the planning team to monitor daily and weekly project progress.
Track actual progress against planned targets and highlight delays or constraints.
Assist in preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Support preparation and implementation of recovery plans wherever required.
4. Quality Control
Ensure construction activities comply with approved quality requirements, drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures.
Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and testing.
Ensure timely closure of quality observations, NCRs, punch points, and other site issues.
Maintain proper records of site inspections and completed activities.
5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Ensure strict compliance with project HSE procedures and applicable statutory requirements.
Ensure that contractors and workmen follow safe working practices.
Participate in toolbox meetings, safety inspections, and site safety initiatives.
Ensure proper implementation of work permits, risk assessments, PPE requirements, and safe work procedures.
Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses to the concerned authorities.
6. Material & Resource Management
Coordinate with stores and procurement teams for timely availability of construction materials.
Verify material availability and suitability before commencement of work.
Ensure proper handling, storage, preservation, and utilization of materials at site.
Monitor wastage and ensure optimum utilization of resources.
7. Contractor Coordination
Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors for day-to-day execution activities.
Monitor contractor manpower, equipment deployment, productivity, and work quality.
Conduct regular site coordination meetings and follow up on pending activities.
Ensure contractors comply with project specifications, schedules, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
8. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain daily site records, work progress reports, inspection requests, measurement records, and other project documentation.
Assist in maintaining as-built information and construction records.
Prepare daily/weekly progress updates for reporting to the Project Manager / Construction Manager.
Ensure timely submission and closure of required site documentation.
9. Testing, Pre-Commissioning & Handover
Support testing, inspection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities as applicable.
Coordinate with QA/QC and commissioning teams for system completion.
Assist in closure of punch points and preparation of systems for handover.
Support preparation of completion and handover documentation.
