Position-Senior Project Execution / Project Manager
Qualification
Diploma Engineer or B.E./B.Tech, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
Additional qualifications in Project Management, Construction Management, or relevant technical disciplines will be an advantage.
Experience
Overall Experience
The candidate should have extensive experience in managing and executing large-scale Hydrocarbon / Oil & Gas projects from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover. The role requires strong leadership, project management, construction, contractor management, and stakeholder coordination capabilities.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
Lead end-to-end execution of Hydrocarbon / Oil & Gas projects in accordance with approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and HSE requirements.
Develop and monitor project execution strategies, construction methodologies, resource plans, and project schedules.
Ensure timely mobilization of manpower, materials, equipment, contractors, and other project resources.
Establish project milestones and monitor progress against approved plans.
Identify project risks, constraints, and potential delays and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
Ensure effective coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project controls teams.
2. Construction & Site Management
Oversee site execution activities including mechanical, piping, equipment erection, structural, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and associated facilities.
Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and project requirements.
Monitor productivity and performance of construction contractors and subcontractors.
Ensure proper sequencing and coordination of construction activities to achieve project milestones.
Resolve site-related technical and execution issues in coordination with engineering and other stakeholders.
Ensure effective utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and other resources.
3. Engineering & Technical Coordination
Coordinate with engineering teams for timely issuance of drawings, specifications, BOQs, and other engineering deliverables.
Review and monitor engineering deliverables for constructability and site requirements.
Coordinate technical queries, design changes, deviations, and field modifications.
Ensure proper implementation of approved engineering changes at site.
Coordinate with vendors and technical consultants for resolution of technical and equipment-related issues.
4. Procurement & Material Management
Coordinate with procurement and supply-chain teams to ensure timely availability of critical project materials and equipment.
Monitor procurement status against project requirements and construction schedules.
Identify critical and long-lead items and ensure timely follow-up.
Coordinate inspection, expediting, transportation, receipt, storage, and preservation of materials/equipment at site.
Minimize material shortages, wastage, and project delays arising from supply-chain issues.
5. Project Controls & Cost Management
Monitor project progress, productivity, resource utilization, and overall project performance.
Coordinate with planning and cost-control teams for preparation and monitoring of project schedules and budgets.
Review planned vs. actual progress and implement corrective actions where required.
Monitor project costs, variations, claims, and additional works.
Support preparation and evaluation of change orders, variation statements, and contractor claims.
Provide regular project status reports to senior management.
6. Contractor & Subcontractor Management
Manage EPC contractors, construction contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
Review contractor work programs, manpower deployment, equipment deployment, and productivity.
Conduct regular progress review meetings with contractors and ensure closure of action points.
Monitor contractual compliance and performance against agreed scope, schedule, quality, and HSE requirements.
Support resolution of contractual, commercial, and execution-related issues.
7. Quality Management
Ensure all construction and installation activities comply with approved Quality Plans, ITPs, specifications, codes, and applicable standards.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection, testing, documentation, and quality compliance.
Ensure proper closure of punch points, NCRs, observations, and quality-related issues.
Ensure completion of project documentation, test packs, inspection records, and handover dossiers.
8. HSE Management
Ensure strict compliance with company and project HSE policies and statutory requirements.
Promote a strong safety culture across project sites and contractor organizations.
Ensure implementation of approved HSE plans, work permits, JSA/JHA, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
Monitor compliance with safety requirements during construction, testing, commissioning, and other site activities.
Participate in safety audits, inspections, toolbox meetings, and incident investigations as required.
9. Testing, Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning
Coordinate mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
Ensure completion of system-wise construction and testing activities as per approved procedures.
Coordinate hydro testing, pneumatic testing, flushing, cleaning, pressure testing, equipment testing, and other applicable activities.
Coordinate with commissioning teams, vendors, clients, and statutory authorities for successful commissioning and start-up.
Ensure timely closure of punch points and readiness for commissioning and handover.
10. Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as the key interface with clients, consultants, statutory authorities, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
Conduct regular progress meetings and communicate project status, challenges, risks, and recovery plans.
Ensure timely resolution of client comments, technical queries, and project issues.
Maintain effective professional relationships with all stakeholders throughout project execution.
11. Project Handover & Closeout
Ensure completion of all project activities within the approved schedule and contractual requirements.
Coordinate preparation and submission of as-built drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, test certificates, inspection records, and other handover documents.
Ensure closure of punch lists and outstanding contractual/project activities.
Support final handover, commissioning documentation, and project closeout.
Capture lessons learned and ensure proper project completion reporting.
