Job Title: Air Cooled Chiller Testing Operator

Job Summary

We are looking for an Air Cooled Chiller Testing Operator responsible for conducting performance, functional, safety, and reliability testing of air-cooled chillers before dispatch. The role involves operating testing facilities, monitoring refrigeration and electrical parameters, recording test results, identifying defects, and ensuring compliance with quality and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Inspection

• Perform pre-test inspections of air-cooled chillers and associated components.
• Conduct performance testing as per approved procedures and quality standards.
• Verify chiller operation under different load conditions.
• Test compressors, condenser fans, expansion valves, pumps, controls, sensors, and safety devices.
• Perform leak testing, pressure testing, and vacuum holding tests.

Monitoring & Data Recording

• Monitor and record chilled water temperatures, refrigerant pressures, compressor current/voltage, cooling capacity, power consumption, water flow, and ambient temperature.
• Maintain accurate test reports and quality records.

Troubleshooting & Quality Control

• Identify performance deviations and quality defects.
• Assist engineers in troubleshooting refrigeration, electrical, and control-system issues.
• Verify corrective actions and retest modified units.
• Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.

Equipment Maintenance

• Ensure testing instruments are calibrated and functioning properly.
• Maintain test benches, gauges, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
• Report equipment abnormalities and maintenance requirements.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow safety procedures related to refrigeration, electrical equipment, and pressure testing.
• Use appropriate PPE.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, AHRI, ASHRAE, and company quality standards.

Educational Qualification

ITI / Diploma in:

• Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• HVAC Technology

Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in HVAC manufacturing, chiller testing, commissioning, or quality assurance.
• Experience in air-cooled chiller testing is preferred.

Required Technical Skills

• Knowledge of refrigeration cycle and HVAC fundamentals.
• Understanding of air-cooled chiller components and operation.
• Ability to read P&ID diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of refrigerant systems, Scroll/Screw compressors, PLC/HMI controls, and electrical testing instruments.
• Hands-on experience with manifold gauges, clamp meters, pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and power analyzers.

Working Conditions

• HVAC manufacturing plant and testing laboratory environment.
• Exposure to refrigeration systems, electrical panels, and rotating equipment.

• Shift operations may be required based on production requirements.
