Role Overview
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products in line with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. The role requires hands-on experience in machine manufacturing, machining, fabrication, assembly, engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality inspection processes.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Quality Control
- Perform and monitor Incoming Quality Inspection (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Final Quality Inspection (FQC).
- Inspect machined, fabricated, sheet metal, and assembled components as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Verify critical dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, and surface finish requirements.
- Ensure all components meet defined quality standards before moving to the next stage.
Quality Documentation
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, NCRs, and quality records.
- Prepare and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
- Maintain traceability of inspection and quality records.
- Support internal and external audits.
Problem Solving & Improvement
- Identify non-conformances and raise NCRs.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using 5 Why, Fishbone, and other quality tools.
- Implement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Work with Production, Design, and Purchase teams to reduce rejection and rework.
Supplier & Customer Quality
- Conduct incoming material and supplier quality inspections.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support customer inspections, FAT, and quality-related documentation.
QMS & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal Quality Management System procedures.
- Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Support calibration and control of measuring instruments.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Hands-on experience in inspection of machined and fabricated components.

Ideal Candidate
A technically strong Quality Engineer with hands-on experience in engineering drawings, GD&T, machining, inspection, and quality problem-solving. The candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working closely with Design, Production, Purchase, and Suppliers to ensure consistent product quality.

Technical Experience Required
- Hands-on experience in servicing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of CNC and VMC machines.
- Knowledge of CNC controllers, servo motors/drives, spindle systems, ball screws, LM guideways, and machine alignment.
- Experience in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic automation-related issues.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Experience in machine installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and breakdown maintenance.
- Exposure to FAT/SAT and customer-site machine installation.
Ideal Candidate
A Service Engineer with 4–5 years of hands-on experience in CNC/VMC machine servicing, capable of independently handling installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and customer service activities. Strong willingness to travel is essential.
