Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Buyer to manage sourcing and procurement activities across electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in global sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, alternate sourcing, localization, and ERP-based purchasing processes.
Nature of Experience
Experience in sourcing and procurement of Electrical & Electronic Components, including active components, passive components, switchgear, and control panels.
Experience in sourcing and procurement of Mechanical Components, including sheet metal, boilers, pressure vessels, flanges, and related components.
Experience in sourcing and procurement of Electro-Mechanical Components, including wires, cables, wire harnesses, and related components.
Strong knowledge of general purchasing and sourcing processes within an ERP system.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers and vendors and build strong supplier relationships.
Ability to multitask, set priorities, organize activities, and follow through to meet deadlines.
Experience in global sourcing, alternate component sourcing, and localization.
Experience in handling CAPEX procurement, IT procurement, and indirect procurement.
Experience with LTA (Long-Term Agreements) will be an added advantage.
Major Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct RFI/RFQ/RFP (Request for Information/Quotation/Proposal) processes locally and globally.
Manage bidding processes while minimizing procurement risks and maximizing value in terms of quality, delivery, and cost.
Identify and evaluate suitable suppliers based on technical, commercial, quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms with suppliers.
Ensure negotiated terms meet specified quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
Prepare detailed comparative statements for supplier evaluation and selection.
Perform should-costing and cost analysis to support sourcing and negotiation decisions.
Ensure the complete P2P (Procure-to-Pay) cycle is followed as per WATLOW SOP.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Support alternate supplier development and localization initiatives.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely procurement and material availability.

Software & ERP Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel and other relevant applications.
Working knowledge of Oracle ERP.
Knowledge of other relevant ERP and procurement software tools.
Ability to manage purchasing and sourcing activities within an ERP system.
Preferred / Added Advantage
Experience across multiple commodities will be an added advantage.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings will be an added advantage.
Experience in LTA (Long-Term Agreements) will be an added advantage.
Experience in CAPEX, IT, and Indirect Procurement will be an added advantage.
