Job Description: Assistant Manager – HR Business Partner

Reporting To: Head – Human Resources / Skill Business Head
Role Purpose To partner with the Skill Development Business in managing its complete people agenda across projects, training centres and corporate teams. The role will ensure timely manpower deployment, employee engagement, performance management, statutory compliance and effective HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business and project leaders on workforce planning, hiring and manpower-cost optimisation.
- Drive recruitment and timely deployment of trainers, mobilisers, placement teams, project managers, MIS and support staff.
- Manage onboarding, employee documentation, probation confirmation, transfers and separation processes.
- Implement PMS, KRAs, productivity reviews and performance-improvement plans.
- Monitor attendance, payroll inputs, leave, employee records and HRIS compliance.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace investigations fairly and promptly.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, recognition and capability-building initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, labour laws, client requirements and project-specific guidelines.
- Track attrition, vacancies, manpower cost, productivity and other HR metrics through regular dashboards.
- Support project mobilisation, centre launches, audits and workforce transitions across locations.
- Coordinate with Finance, Operations, Quality and Compliance teams for smooth project delivery.
- Undertake periodic travel to project and training locations, as required.
Candidate Profile
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent qualification.
- 5–7 years of HR generalist/HRBP experience, preferably in skill development, education, staffing, apprenticeship, training or project-based businesses.
- Strong understanding of recruitment, employee relations, PMS, HR operations and statutory compliance.
- Ability to work with geographically dispersed and field-based teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, HRIS and HR dashboards.
- Knowledge of Hindi and English is essential; familiarity with Bihar operations will be an advantage.
