We are looking for a Production Supervisor with experience in fabrication, welding, and manufacturing of transformer structures, railway components, or heavy engineering products. The candidate will be responsible for supervising shop floor operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety compliance, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily fabrication and production activities as per the production plan.
- Allocate manpower, machines, tools, and materials to achieve daily production targets.
- Monitor fabrication, welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, machining, and assembly activities.
- Ensure production is carried out as per engineering drawings, work orders, BOM, WPS, and approved quality standards.
- Coordinate with Planning, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering departments for smooth execution of production.
- Monitor productivity, material consumption, and minimize rework and wastage.
- Ensure timely completion of work orders and adherence to production schedules.
- Maintain daily production reports, manpower utilization, and machine utilization records.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for stage inspections and final inspections.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and proper utilization of welding machines, cranes, presses, grinders, and other fabrication equipment.
- Train and guide welders, fitters, fabricators, and operators on work methods, quality requirements, and safety practices.
- Implement and maintain 5S, EHS, and safety standards across the shop floor.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
- 4–8 years of experience in fabrication, transformer manufacturing, railway components, heavy engineering, steel structures, or EPC industries.
- Good knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, engineering drawings, BOM, and shop floor operations.
- Strong leadership, team handling, and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of quality systems, 5S, and EHS practices.
