Description of Role:

•     Managing welding procedure qualifications and generating welding procedures to help the manufacturing and welding teams.

•     Prepare the WPS, WPQR & WQT/PQR documents as per applicable standards.

•     Prepare the weld plan cum weld map as per customer specification/drawings.

•     Prepare SR cycle as per customer specification/drawings.

•     Responsible for EN ISO 3834-2 & EN ISO 15085-2 certification audit.

•     Review the technical requirement as per project & guide to related functional.

•     Provide training/technical guidance to related functional engineers.

•     Provide welding training to GET engineer, ITI apprentice & welders.

•     Prepare and explain work instruction to welders. . achieving Targets in Production

•     Training other welders on new techniques, processes or changes in design.

•     Keeping record of welder wise for poor welding and productivity and provide training for good practice.

•     Ensuring the welder is on the approval register /qualified for the WPS being used.

•     Ensuring welding process, welding consumable & welding parameters must be in accordance with WPS.

•     Troubleshoot welding problems and provide corrective solutions.

•     Ensuring minimum preheat (if required) & maximum inter-pass temperature is being maintained in accordance with WPS.

•     Ensuring inter-run cleaning must be at good workmanship.

•     Ensure no grinding on welding and maintain traceability of each weld joint.

•     Prepare welding inspection report before and during welding.

•     Keeping record and maintain welding equipment.

•     Authority to take any decision to fulfill the above responsibility.

Responsible to ensure implement of 5S & EHS at workplace.
