Position: Purchase Executive

Role Overview
The Purchase Executive will be responsible for sourcing, procurement, vendor development, and ensuring timely availability of materials required for production. The role requires strong coordination with Design, Production, Stores, and Quality teams to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations while achieving cost, quality, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
• Source and procure mechanical, electrical, electronic, and standard engineering components as per BOM and production requirements.
• Float RFQs, obtain quotations, perform techno-commercial evaluations, and negotiate with vendors.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP/SAP.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to support production schedules.
Vendor Management
• Develop and evaluate new vendors for cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers.
• Conduct vendor performance reviews and implement supplier improvement initiatives.
Material Planning & Coordination
• Coordinate with Design, PPC, Production, Stores, and Quality teams regarding material requirements.
• Monitor purchase order status and expedite critical materials.
• Ensure optimum inventory levels while avoiding shortages and excess stock.
Commercial & Documentation
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions.
• Maintain procurement records, purchase documentation, and vendor databases.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards.
Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value engineering.
• Support localization and alternate vendor development initiatives.
• Improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.

Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
• Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
• Strong analytical, planning, and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/SAP systems.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

Qualification & Experience
• B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical,
• 2–4 years of experience in procurement within machine manufacturing, SPM, automation, or engineering industries.
