SUMMARY OF JOB
- Own capacity planning, tooling inventory, and compliance using data management systems and analytics platforms.
- Drive tooling lifecycle management through strong vendor coordination, preventive maintenance, and production support.
- Manage tooling, vendors, and production support to ensure tool availability, preventive maintenance, and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Champion digital transformation in tooling management, leveraging BI tools, databases, and predictive analytics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tooling & Vendor Management: Manage tooling suppliers and ensure adherence to performance, cost, and delivery KPIs. Collaborate with vendors using tool management systems and shared digital platforms. Intimate the respective tooling leader to take proactive actions to avoid line stoppage due to tooling.
- Production Support: Align tooling availability with production forecasts through data-driven planning tools. Support production through real-time monitoring of tool status using digital dashboards. Enable proactive issue resolution using historical and live production data. Support Production in day-to-day operations.
- Capacity Management & Inventory Control- Maintain a centralized tooling database with complete lifecycle tracking (usage, maintenance, repairs, replacement). Ensure accurate and timely updates in tool management software. Use Power BI/Tableau dashboards for: Tool utilization tracking, Capacity planning & Downtime analysis. Maintain a comprehensive database of injection molding machine capacity across vendors. Drive weekly reporting and reviews using structured data visualization. Own and govern tooling-related data across systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.
- Periodic & Preventive Maintenance- Ensure all tooling maintenance activities are captured in digital systems. Drive preventive maintenance schedules using data-driven alerts and triggers. Implement predictive maintenance using trend analysis and failure data.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all tooling complies with quality and safety standards, implementing necessary inspections and tests.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for tooling enhancements and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to align tooling requirements with production schedules and product specifications.
- Training: Provide training and support to vendor on proper tooling usage and maintenance procedures.
EDUCATION—MINIMUM REQUIRED LEVEL
Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Tool & Die or a related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE—MINIMUM REQUIRED
7+ years of experience in tooling coordination or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of Metal component manufacturing processes.
Proficient in Microsoft tools, Power BI/Tableau, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), CAD & PDM software’s.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
