Role Overview
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving business growth for the company's Calibration Services Division by acquiring new customers, maintaining existing accounts, promoting Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), and achieving sales and revenue targets. The role requires strong customer relationship management, technical understanding of calibration services, and the ability to develop new business opportunities across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for calibration services across assigned territories.
- Generate leads through direct customer visits, cold calling, networking, referrals, and digital platforms.
- Develop business with OEMs, manufacturing industries, pharmaceuticals, automotive, aerospace, laboratories, and process industries.
- Promote calibration services, Annual Calibration Contracts (ACC/AMC), and value-added services.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable calibration solutions.
- Conduct customer meetings, technical presentations, and service discussions.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
Sales & Commercial Activities
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and techno-commercial offers.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within company guidelines.
- Follow up on quotations and convert opportunities into confirmed orders.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate with the Calibration Laboratory and Operations teams for timely service execution.
- Ensure timely submission of customer documentation and reports.
- Follow up on service completion, invoicing, and payment collections.
- Maintain CRM records and update customer interactions regularly.
Market Development
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
- Identify new applications and industry segments for business expansion.
- Participate in exhibitions, seminars, and customer engagement programs.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong B2B sales and business development skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Good understanding of calibration services, testing, or industrial instrumentation.
- Ability to build long-term customer relationships.
- Target-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM/ERP systems.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, technical sales, or service sales.
- Experience in Calibration Services, Test & Measurement, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, or Engineering Services is preferred.
