Job Description – Service Engineer (Machine Manufacturing / SPM)
Position: Service Engineer
Location: Pune-1 , Delhi-1
Department: Service & Customer Support
Reports To: Service Manager / After-Sales Head
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Service Engineer to handle installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of machines / SPM equipment at client sites. The role demands strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering excellent after-sales service.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and test machines/SPMs at client sites.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and resolve technical issues (mechanical, electrical, automation).
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of machines.
- Train customer operators/maintenance teams for effective machine usage.
- Prepare service reports, document issues, and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with design, production, and R&D teams for technical support and feedback.
- Ensure timely response to service calls and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Support spare parts management and service revenue generation.
- Adhere to company safety and quality standards during field activities.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation (PLC/CNC basics preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently at customer sites.
- Good communication and customer handling skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively (domestic/international as required).
- Basic knowledge of service documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience as a Service Engineer in machine manufacturing, automation, or SPM industry.
