The Senior Engineer I – Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for driving process improvements and enhancing manufacturing and maintenance efficiency through innovative engineering solutions. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing systems and maintenance strategies to improve productivity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
As an individual contributor with specialized technical expertise, the incumbent plays a critical role in analyzing production workflows, improving equipment performance, and supporting operational excellence initiatives. The position also includes mentoring junior professionals and providing technical guidance on complex or non-routine challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Improvement
- Analyze existing production processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Design and implement optimized manufacturing processes to enhance output, quality, and cost performance
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
- Develop and standardize best practices across manufacturing operations
Capacity Planning & Optimization
- Evaluate production capacity and forecast future requirements based on demand projections
- Propose and implement solutions to address capacity constraints
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources, equipment, and manpower
Maintenance & Equipment Reliability
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment uptime
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify recurring issues and root causes
- Lead equipment upgrades, retrofits, and modernization initiatives
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure effective execution of maintenance plans
Systems Design & Implementation
- Design and deploy manufacturing systems, tools, and technologies that enhance operational efficiency
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions aligned with business objectives
- Ensure all systems and processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Technical Analysis & Problem Solving
- Apply advanced engineering principles to troubleshoot complex production and maintenance issues
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to drive decision-making
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff on best practices and technical problem-solving
- Review and validate work outputs to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards
- Provide support on escalated technical challenges
