· The Embedded Firmware Architect is responsible for defining the overall architecture, design principles, and technical strategy for embedded systems and firmware solutions.
· This role is responsible for defining firmware architecture, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering robust, real-time, and safety-critical solutions
· This role ensures that embedded Firmware is robust, scalable, secure, and aligned with hardware design and system-level requirements.
The architect leads technical decision making, mentors engineering teams, and collaborates across disciplines including hardware, systems, and product management to deliver reliable, high-performance embedded products.
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Electronics, Biomedical, Computer Science, or related)
· 15–20 years of experience in system design, preferably in medical devices or healthcare
· Strong expertise in:
· C/C++ (embedded)
· Microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, etc.) and Microprocessor – TI,NXP ,NVIDIA
· RTOS (FreeRTOS, Thread, VxWorks) and Embedded Linux
· Key Responsibility:
· Define the firmware architecture for embedded medical devices.
· Design scalable, modular, and reusable firmware frameworks.
· Lead Embedded Platform MCU and Microprocessor development with real-time embedded systems (RTOS, Embedded Linux or bare-metal).
· Translate system and clinical requirements into firmware design.
· Ensure compliance with:
· IEC 62304
· IEC 60601
· Define interfaces between firmware, hardware, and higher-level software.
· Lead design reviews, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
· Collaborate with hardware, systems, QARA, and clinical teams.
· Support verification & validation, debugging, and root cause analysis.
· Guide teams on low-level drivers, BSP, and middleware integration and Board bring up
· Drive proof-of-concept projects and early prototypes
· Shall be able to Mentors, train and lead other engineers
· Ability to work under pressure and Problem-solving mindset
· Ability to work well in a team environment
