Role Overview:
The Transformer PM / Tendering Manager responsible for preparing competitive and technically compliant bids for Power and Distribution transformers (500 kVA to 100 MVA, 170 kV class). This role involves analyzing customer specifications, coordinating with internal teams and ensuring timely submission of tenders to Front office while maintaining profitability and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tender Analysis & Preparation
- Review and interpret customer specifications, drawings and tender documents
- Identify technical and commercial requirements, deviations and risks
- Prepare detailed cost estimation and pricing for transformers and related accessories
- Technical Compliance
- Ensure transformer design meets customer requirements and applicable standards (IEC, IS, ANSI, etc.)
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams for technical clarifications
- Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with procurement, manufacturing and quality teams for cost inputs and delivery schedules
- Communicate with Customer thru front office for pre-bid queries and clarifications
- Documentation & Submission
- Prepare tender documents including technical datasheets, compliance statements and commercial offers
- Ensure timely submission of bids as per tender deadlines
- Cost Optimization & Risk Assessment
- Analyze cost drivers and suggest cost-saving measures without compromising quality
- Assess risks related to technical deviations, delivery timelines and contractual terms
- Market & Competitor Analysis
- Monitor competitor pricing and market trends to maintain competitiveness
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience: 4-5 years in Transformer Tendering / PM
- Technical Knowledge:
- Power and distribution transformer design basics
- Standards: IEC, IS, ANSI
- Software Skills: MS Office, ERP systems, costing tools
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, communication and negotiation skills.
