Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design projects for industrial machinery and SPMs from concept to commissioning.
- Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up, and material selection for high-performance designs.
- Ensure designs meet functional, safety, and quality requirements while optimizing for manufacturability and cost.
- Collaborate with production, electrical, and automation teams to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly.
- Conduct design reviews, FMEA, DFMA , DFS and risk assessments specific to machine manufacturing.
- Support prototype development, assembly trials, and shop floor troubleshooting.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide them in best design and manufacturing practices.
- Research and incorporate new technologies, materials, and processes to improve machine performance.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- 6–10 years of experience in machine manufacturing, custom-built machinery, or SPM design.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) and GD&T.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes: machining, welding, sheet metal, casting, and assembly.
- Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical motion systems.
- Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and product lifecycle management.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project execution skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with PDM/PLM tools (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).
- Familiarity with automation integration (PLC, robotics).
- Knowledge of relevant ISO/ASME/ANSI standards for machinery.
