Job Summary - Description
Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Senior Manager – MEP (Facility Construction) to lead the planning and execution of large-scale facility construction projects. The role will be responsible for end-to-end management of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across industrial and commercial infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This position requires strong leadership capability, deep technical expertise in MEP systems, and proven experience managing complex facility construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead complete lifecycle management of facility construction projects, from concept to commissioning and handover.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, procurement, and risk management.
- Coordinate closely with civil, architectural, design consultants, and cross-functional internal teams.
- Ensure projects are delivered within defined timelines and cost targets.
- Technical Management (MEP)
- Oversee design review and execution of:
- Electrical systems (HT/LT distribution, transformers, panels, cabling, DG systems)
- HVAC systems ( Industrial building + Commercial offices )
- Plumbing & water management systems
- Fire detection & firefighting systems ( well aware with FM global, GRC standards )
- Fire fighting system ( Sprinkler + Hydrant + FDA + PA ) design and installation.
- Pneumatic, water and special fluid piping design and installation
- Experience in WTP, STP and ETP design and installation
- Validate engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and contractor submissions.
- Ensure compliance with Indian standards, statutory regulations, and safety norms.
- ELV & Building Management Systems (BMS)
Oversee design, installation, testing, and commissioning of ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems, including:
- Structured cabling systems
- CCTV & surveillance systems
- Access control systems
- Public Address (PA) systems
- Fire alarm & detection systems
- Data & communication networks
- HVAC systems
- Piping for pneumatic, water and special fluid.
- STP, ETP and WTP installation – Design and installation
- Electrical distribution systems
- Energy monitoring systems
- Fire & safety systems
- Ensure seamless integration between ELV, BMS, and core MEP infrastructure.
- Validate system architecture, network topology, and control strategies.
- Coordinate with OEMs, system integrators, and IT teams for proper configuration and cybersecurity compliance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and client technical specifications.
- Lead functional testing, performance validation, and final commissioning.
- Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare project cost estimates and manage budgets effectively.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and recommend technically and commercially optimized solutions.
- Monitor project cash flow, track variations, and control project expenditures.
- Contractor & Vendor Management
- Lead contractor selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation.
- Conduct regular site reviews and progress meetings.
- Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project milestones.
- Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce strict compliance with HSE policies and site safety standards.
- Ensure quality control processes are implemented and maintained.
- Manage testing, commissioning, and final documentation for project handover.
- Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Provide regular project status updates, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
- Resolve technical and contractual challenges proactively.
- Qualifications
- BE / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 12 – 15 years of relevant experience in MEP facility construction and project management
- Proven track record of delivering medium to large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of statutory approvals and regulatory compliance in India
- Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera and standard project management tools
