Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Foundation. The role requires a mission-driven leader who can convert vision into execution, strengthen systems and processes, ensure quality delivery, build strong partnerships, and drive scale, compliance, sustainability, and measurable impact across the Foundation’s initiatives.The COO will oversee day-to-day operations, program execution, stakeholder engagement, governance support, and organizational capability building.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
· Drive the Foundation’s strategic priorities in alignment with its mission.
· Translate vision into actionable plans, milestones, and outcomes.
· Support expansion across geographies and thematic areas.
· Identify opportunities in CSR, livelihoods, skilling, education, women empowerment, and community development.
2. Program Operations & Execution
· Lead end-to-end execution of programs and projects.
· Ensure timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery.
· Monitor targets, budgets, deliverables, and impact metrics.
· Build strong review systems to resolve bottlenecks and improve execution.
· Drive operational excellence across mobilization, training, placements, and community engagement, wherever applicable.
3. Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
· Build and manage relationships with CSR partners, corporates, government departments, NGOs, donors, and institutions.
· Support fundraising and business development through proposals, presentations, and partnership discussions.
· Represent the Foundation in key external forums and stakeholder reviews.
· Strengthen partnerships that enhance scale, credibility, and impact.
4. Governance, Compliance & Risk
· Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
· Strengthen governance systems, SOPs, policies, controls, and reporting.
· Support compliance related to grants, CSR projects, audits, and government partnerships.
· Identify risks and ensure timely mitigation.
5. Financial Oversight
· Work with finance and program teams on budget planning, utilization, and reporting.
· Ensure efficient deployment of funds and resources.
· Monitor cost effectiveness across projects and functions.
· Support financial planning for growth and sustainability.
6. Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact
· Strengthen MIS, dashboards, and management reviews.
· Ensure strong impact measurement, documentation, and reporting.
· Promote data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
· Oversee reports, case studies, presentations, and impact summaries for leadership and partners.
7. Process Improvement & Scalability
· Build scalable systems, digital workflows, and operating models.
· Standardize processes while allowing local flexibility.
· Identify opportunities for innovation in program delivery and outreach.
· Support sustainable institutional growth through replicable models.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in handling large-scale, multi-location programs.
- Strong exposure to government partnerships, donor-funded projects, and CSR programs.
- Experience in institution building, process strengthening, and team leadership is essential.
Education:
Master’s degree in Management, Social Work, Rural Development, Public Policy, Development Studies, or related field. MBA / PGDM from a reputed institution will be an added advantage.
Experience:
15+ years of overall experience, with leadership exposure in NGO, CSR, skilling, livelihoods, education, or social impact operations.
