Position Overview:
The HR Recruitment Specialist – Railway Vertical will play a key role in driving
end-to-end recruitment and talent delivery for clients within the railway sector.
Reporting directly to the HR Director, this role is pivotal in building talent pipelines,
managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with both internal KPIs and
railway-specific regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate will have strong
domain knowledge in the railway industry and a proven track record in technical
and infrastructure recruitment.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Recruitment Delivery
▪ Execute full-cycle recruitment for roles in railway projects, operations,
engineering, rolling stock, and executive management, etc.
▪ Source, screen, and assess candidates for suitability across various functional
disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics, etc.).
▪ Leverage ATS, LinkedIn, job portals, and niche industry networks to attract top
railway talent.
Stakeholder Management
▪ Work closely with the HR Director to align recruitment strategy with overall
business objectives.
▪ Partner with account managers and business development teams to understand
project-based hiring demands.
▪ Serve as the primary point of contact for client HR leads and hiring managers on
recruitment progress, challenges, and strategy.
Workforce Planning & Talent Pool Development
▪ Build and maintain proactive candidate pipelines for short-term mobilization and
long-term project requirements.
▪ Monitor labor trends and talent gaps specific to railway sectors (urban metro,
freight, high-speed, signaling, electrification, etc.).
▪ Support proposal/bid teams by providing candidate CVs, availability, and salary
benchmarking for project tenders.
Compliance, Documentation & Safety Standards
▪ Ensure all candidates meet eligibility and compliance requirements including
medical fitness, railway certifications (e.g., PTS, IRSE, RDSO, ISO), background
checks, and client documentation.
▪ Maintain compliance with industry-specific labor regulations and contractual
agreements.
Reporting & Metrics
▪ Provide weekly/monthly reports to the HR Director on recruitment performance,
time-to-fill metrics, and pipeline status.
▪ Track and analyze recruitment data to identify areas for process improvement
and resource allocation.
Internal Process Enhancement
▪ Assist the HR Director in designing and implementing recruitment process
improvements, interview frameworks, and onboarding workflows.
▪ Provide training and support to junior recruiters or sourcing specialists within
the railway team.
Required Qualifications:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Engineering, or
related discipline.
▪ Master’s degree or HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, CIPD) preferred.
▪ 4–8 years of recruitment experience, with at least 2–3 years focused on
railway/infrastructure recruitment.
▪ Experience recruiting across multiple railway domains: civil works,
electrification, systems, operations, or rolling stock.
▪ Knowledge of relevant industry certifications and compliance (e.g., IRSE, RDSO,
PTS, EN standards).
Key Skills & Competencies:
▪ Strong domain knowledge of the railway sector – including terminology,
functional roles, and major clients/operators.
▪ Ability to assess technical profiles and interact effectively with both HR and
engineering stakeholders.
▪ Excellent sourcing skills via LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, job boards, and
referrals.
▪ High attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
▪ Strong reporting, documentation, and data analysis skills.
▪ Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
