I. Job Purpose:
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in accounting, strong analytical skills, and hands-on knowledge of accounting software. You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, maintaining accounting integrity, and managing accounting staff to ensure the efficient execution of financial operations.
II. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports with contributions from the finance team.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting data through thorough verification, allocation, posting, and transaction entry.
- Generate precise and error-free accounting results and reports.
- Conduct monthly or quarterly account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and implementing necessary improvements.
- Analyze financial statements for accuracy and clarity.
- Oversee inter-company transactions, bank statement analyses, and invoice generation.
- Review existing accounting systems, making recommendations for enhancements.
- Manage and mentor a team of bookkeepers and other accounting staff.
- Assist in departmental goal-setting and strategy planning.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Assist in preparing tax returns and participating in audits.
- Plan and assign tasks to accounting personnel, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Maintain general ledgers and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Develop and implement effective financial procedures and controls.
- Prepare and summarize financial transactions and status reports, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Present financial reports clearly and concisely to management and accounting teams.
- Stay informed on the latest business trends and financial regulations.
III. Qualifications, Experience & Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Age limit: Up to 45 years old.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Supervisor.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Tally ERP.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with non-profit tax filing and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to multitask effectively and enforce internal controls.
- Skilled in interpreting financial data for various departments.
- Capacity to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
