Job Purpose:
Responsible for ensuring the project and related activities are carried out in a safe, cost effective and timely manner. This position requires assisting in the preparation and completion of blue prints for additions, installations, maintenance and repair purposes. Prepare drawings and sketches for modifications of machinery and equipment and layouts on various systems. Also Provide technical coordination support for the Rolling Mill to include the development and refinement of operating procedures for the electric arc furnace, caster, rolling mills, finishing equipment, and all related auxiliary equipment, ladle, and the processing and handling of scrap and finished product.
Key Responsibilities:
- Over all responsibility of Roling Mill operation and maintenance.
- Coordination with Q.C. Department for size change, according to that Roll assembly done.
- Accountable for ensuring all process and operational personnel have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely, effectively and efficiently.
- Guidance for Quality Inspection of mechanical and chemical properties of steel as per order and make changes in the rolling temperature.
- Maintain safe and reliable Rolling Mill systems while improving production rates, uptime efficiencies, yields, cost, and changeovers.
- Identify and correct safety hazards, and practices and procedures.
- Develop innovative solutions and best practices.
- Conduct equipment and process studies to support continuous improvement.
- Collect data to support continuous improvement analysis and process implementations.
- Investigate and recommend process, procedure, training or equipment needs to continually improve performance.
- Determine causes for deviation and recommend corrections.
- Provide reporting daily, weekly and monthly to document Mill performance against established key performance indicators.
- Work with Mill department and shift managers to optimize personnel and process execution for consistent performance and continuous process improvement.
- Train and develop Mill Operators as needed, to include periodic shift work and to meet training and business objectives.
- Ability to work in all types of weather and environment (Office, Mill, Recycling yard – air-conditioned and non-air- conditioned environments)
